Blur and pixelate are not safe redaction
They can make content harder to read, but they should not be used when the information must be permanently removed.
Safety notes
Blivion is built for careful local cleanup. It helps remove visible sensitive content, clean common metadata, and keep the final review focused on the downloaded export.
Practical standard
Blivion provides local processing, file guardrails, export verification, and clear warnings. For legal, medical, financial, public-record, or regulated disclosure, review the downloaded file before sending it onward.
Best use
Removing visible names, addresses, IDs, faces, or document sections from screenshots, photos, and PDFs.
Preparing a cleaner handoff copy when files should stay local to the browser.
Batch-cleaning supported images and PDFs when each output can still be reviewed before use.
Limits
These are real redaction limits, not fine print. Keeping them visible helps people make safer decisions.
They can make content harder to read, but they should not be used when the information must be permanently removed.
Blivion preserves native PDF structure for rectangular redactions when it can verify the result. Brush, blur, pixelate, rotated page geometry, and complex PDFs may export through a flattened visual PDF fallback.
Blivion checks document info plus supported hidden structures such as XMP metadata, attachments, forms, actions, annotations, associated files, name trees, structural metadata, and trailer IDs. It still does not claim to detect every possible hidden payload or steganographic signal.
Recent sessions are kept on this device for convenience. Shared computers and managed devices should be treated cautiously.
Before sharing
Open the downloaded export, not just the editor preview.
Zoom in on every redacted area and make sure the sensitive content is actually gone.
Check the verification message and treat warnings as a reason to inspect the file again.
For legal, medical, financial, or public-record disclosure, use this as a helper and keep a human review step.
